The AAT3153 is a high efficiency, 1MHz, step-up converter for powering white LEDs from a single-cell lithium-ion battery or dual-cell nickel metal hydride battery. The device is capable of delivering a consistent 20mA to 50mA of LED current, depending on the input voltage and the external component selection.
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Input Voltage | 5.5V |
| Operating Temperature | -40°C to +85°C |
| Storage Temperature | -40°C to +150°C |
| Parameter | Condition | Min | Typ | Max | Unit |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Efficiency | VIN = 3.6V, IOUT = 20mA | 80% | 85% | 90% | % |
| Output Voltage | VIN = 3.6V, IOUT = 20mA | 4.5V | 5V | 5.5V | V |
The AAT3153 requires a minimum of 2.7V input voltage to operate. The device can be used with a single-cell lithium-ion battery or a dual-cell nickel metal hydride battery. The output voltage can be set using an external resistor divider.
The AAT3153 should be mounted on a PCB with adequate thermal management. The device requires a minimum of 4x4mm of copper area for heat sinking.
The AAT3153 has built-in over-temperature protection, over-current protection, and short-circuit protection. The device will automatically shut down if any of these conditions are detected.
